I would like to thank Jeff for the work he did in selling our catamaran ‘Omazey’.

Initially we had been a little wary when we first started to make contact with brokers, but Jeff quickly moved to dispel any worries we may have had. His honest, straightforward approach reassured us, and many, many times we felt thankful we had chosen Jeff over and above his competitors.

He made every effort to make us feel comfortable with the proceedings from start to finish. We greatly appreciated his knowledge of the market, but most importantly we were impressed by his expertise in how to sell our boat within that market. His diplomacy certainly helped smooth the way for both jumpy seller and, occasionally, jumpy buyer!

We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Jeff or Australiawide. In fact, we have recommended him to many of our friends with whom we crossed the Pacific. Without looking for a friend Jeff certainly became one to us, and we hope to stay in touch with him over the years to come.

As a professional boat builder I had just completed building a Schionning 1030 Catamaran with retirement and coastal cruising with my wife in mind. Unfortunately, owning to ill health, we were forced to sell the boat on completion.

I had expected to sell the boat privately however this proved more difficult than I thought, my efforts came to nothing. I listed the boat with Jeff Rowe at Australiawide Boat Sales Newport. We all deal personally and professionally with a variety of companies in our daily lives, some give great service, some try to,
whilst others are just hopeless and of course their is the odd ones we all try to avoid. Common with all the good organisations are staff who try always to do their best for themselves and their companies and we all, I think, like to deal with these as much as possible.

I am not writing to you today to comment on these types of organisations and their people but in fact to mention and acknowledge the other, very rare type of companies such as Australiawide who put in the extra effort, who always try harder than the others, as well as acknowledging an outstanding individual within your organisation.

Recently this staff member of Australiawide Boat Sales sold my 43 foot yacht after it had not sold with another broker. He chased me to sell my boat and stated that he believed he could sell it and get a better result than I had until then. I must admit initially I thought it was a salesman’s throw away line and took little notice–how wrong I was! Jeff Rowe lost his first potential buyer of our yacht who took up a lot of everyone’s time and probably would have discouraged most salesmen–not Jeff, he stated that" we will just try again because I will sell it".

He did sell the vessel for a fair price with the second buyer—nothing much different to other competent salesman, but it was the way he handle the listing from day one than most impressed Jeff was always in touch over the months the boat took to sell, nothing was ever a problem, his manner was always polite and he was always enthusiastic—I think he must like boats!!

Recently we decided to sell our 70 year old John Alden sloop and get something bigger and better suited to our social sailing lifestyle, so we listed her with two brokers in Manly and one in Scarborough. After months of inactivity we were made aware of Euan at Australiawide Boat Sales. Euan kept working with us to sell the boat when other brokers stopped.Euan also introduced us to “Whimborn” a Roberts 36 in a very charming yellow color! The decision was made to buy the Roberts (and new sunglasses) so we signed up as full members of the “Two-Boat club”.

It took another two months before the perfect buyer for Irex came along but we were too busy renovating the new boat and keeping Irex up to scratch to worry about having two vessels. Euan then proceeded to sell Irex and it could not have been better handled. The Roberts is the 23rd boat my husband has owned and he tells me that Irex was the only boat he has sold that has not caused any anxiety. As for the other three brokers with whom Irex was listed they were no bother either as we never heard from them!Our experience with both buying and selling boats has brought us into contact with many yacht-brokers over the years.

We have been very impressed with how Euan and his team at Australiawide Boat Sales go about their business and will happily recommend their services as both buyers and sellers.
