We bought a Farr 6000 from australiawide a few months ago and were very impressed with the professional way that Detlef guided us through the sale process, helping us to organise insurance, registration, a survey and the lease of a hard stand. We would certainly recommend australiawide to others buying a boat.

After carefull consideration we decided to buy a yacht in Queensland to take advantage of the wonderful weather and sailing opportunities.

We are actually New Zealanders – hoping for early retirement – who want to spent some time in the beautiful waters of Australia, away from the cold and wet of New Zealand. So we hopped on a plane, got to Manly and met quiet a few brokers. How disappointing – nothing they showed us came even close to our dream. Until we saw "Meander" at East Coast Marina. We could not help but to come back for a second look.

DETLEF BAUER from Australiawide Boat Sales gave us all the information we needed. He assessed us as people who would match this type of boat immediately and started negotiations between the seller and us in a most professional way. We had the feeling that he has the gift to work for both parties equally well and his sensible advice and understanding of "human nature" made it possible to come to an agreement, that suited us all. Happy faces on both sides – and a smiling Detlef in the middle!

Detlef worked on our contract with knowledge and expertise. He made arrangements with the surveyor, the insurance and organised a suitable berth.
At the moment we are not able to use the boat as much as we want, as we still have obligations in NZ. During our absence Detlef offered to keep an eye on our "baby" and we are in contact via e-mail to keep each other up to date.

With a cheeky smile in our faces we regard Detlef as our "god-father" of "Meander", who looks after her, when "mum" and "dad" can’t be there. What a great feeling!!!!!!!

This letter is to confirm that I recently bought a Hunter 410 yacht through Australiawide Boat Sales with Detlef Bauer as the broker. I can only say I am totally satisfied with the service. I flew from Newcastle to Coolangatta and Detlef picked me up at the airport and took me to Coomera where the vessel was moored. Negotiations through Detlef with the owner were successful and lead to a sale, once again Detlef returned me to Coolangatta.

Detlef was able to assist in providing me with a list of marine surveyors to choose from and he came to the marina for the survey inspection with me. Finally Detlef also located a qualified yacht deliverer who safely returned the vessel to Port Stephens. Overall it was a pleasant and helpful service from Australiawide Boat Sales and I would recommend their services to anyone who wants a smooth and pleasant marine purchase.

We chose Australiawide Boat Sales for a number of reasons, we bought Mehitabel from Euan and we were impressed with how easy you made it for us, we liked the way you always had time to talk to us and never seemed to be in a hurry to be somewhere else. It was easy to get you on the mobile and you returned calls promptly and kept us fully informed of what was going on.

When it came to sell Mehitabel there was no doubt who to use. We feel your website is easy to use and clearly stands out from the rest. We like the fact that you use YACHTHUB and BOATPOINT and your advertising in Trade a Boat is very prominent near the front of the magazine. Everything happened exactly as you promised and the boat sold in exactly the time frame that you predicted.

We found that the prospective purchasers were all serious contenders for our style of boat and we did not feel that any were time wasters. As live aboard we were always consulted prior to inspection and kept fully informed of the feed back. The actual sale was handled by Detlef Bauer in the Manly office, who was just a delight to deal with. His help on the test sail made the morning slip along smoothly.

I recently purchased a yacht via Detlef Bauer of Australiawide and would like to offer my compliments on the service.

I was looking for an offshore-capable yacht and was fairly specific in my requirements. The photos of the yacht that caught my attention clearly showed the need for remedial work to bring her up to scratch.

Learning of my desire to sail her out of Australia through the islands to New Zealand, Detlef was careful to convey a balanced opinion of the yacht’s condition and potential. (Only later did he divulge an extensive resume of offshore experience that certainly qualified him.)

Six weeks later when I finally saw the yacht I had purchased sight unseen, I found her to be much as advertised and was pleased with my purchase.

I must also thank Detlef for his untiring service that carried on long after the sale was concluded. This has been especially welcome for an overseas buyer such as myself preparing to take a vessel offshore.

We would like to congratulate Detlef who listened to us whilst we explained that we were selling our beloved Steel Sapphire after 10 fabulous years of cruising and exploring the Med, Caribbean and Pacific Islands.
He matched up the perfect couple who were looking for a safe blue water yacht like ours.
Long story short, they saw it, fell in love with it and it was all plain sailing and with all paperwork, surveys and formalities completed we were finished within a month of arriving in the marina and we were able to start our touring in a campervan.
We were quite worried by all the horror stories about selling a British boat in Australia but thanks to Detlef it was quite painless.
